For the past 3 years I've been working on creating a new, international and fully remote game studio, in the free time and with every member participating on a volunteer basis. Beware - this path is not for the faint-hearted! Add to the mix being a first time leader while having no previous game experience to rely on. This adventure is still in progress and our mileage may vary, but I would like to share the experience so far, and especially the learnings - so many learnings... Expected topics to be covered: finding your team, collaboration in a fully remote environment, managing a team that isn't working full-time, new leader's mistakes and lessons, legal concerns and, of course, the power of the communities!
