Some people call me an environmentalist, others a lawyer, and some even an author. But to be honest, I’m just a dude who likes dolphins.
Biography
I'm no marine biologist, but I like to think I know what I'm doing. I hold a Bachelor of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo, along with diplomas in Environmental Assessment and Ecological Rehabilitation & Restoration. Currently, I'm pursuing a JD at the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University, specializing in Marine and Environmental Law.
As a best-selling children's book author, a top 30 under 30 sustainability leader, and a Clean50 emerging leader I'm ready to take Dolphin Dude to the next level. This also isn't my first rodeo; I currently sit on the board for Planet in Focus and The Goldilocks Mission, which has given me a wide range of expertise in the film and television industry ranging from writing to production to fundraising.
I created Dolphin Dude because I wanted to show the world that caring is cool, especially for young boys. While I wouldn’t say I was mocked as an environmentalist, I certainly wasn’t always taken seriously. Nowadays, environmentalists often get a bad rap, and while I believe in the power of radical activism, that’s not my style. I’m just a dude who likes dolphins. I don’t care what side of the political spectrum you’re on, when you see a cute little dolphin you can’t help but appreciate the beauty of the natural world. I’m not expecting you to watch Dolphin Dude and become the next Greta Thunberg, but I do hope that somewhere along the way, you’ll see a charismatic and compassionate dolphin and think, “Dude, that was so cool!”.
