Screenwriter. Professor at the Faculty of Anime and Manga Art, Kaishi Professional University. Winner of the 6th Fuji Television Young Scenario Award. His representative works include screenplays for the films PERFECT BLUE and Millennium Actress (directed by Satoshi Kon), Steamboy and MUSHI-SHI (directed by Katsuhiro Otomo), as well as series compositions for the TV animation series Mōryō no Hako, Natsume Yuujincho, KNIGHTS OF SIDONIA and Kaina of the Great Snow Sea, and continues a wide range of creative activities, both in live action and animation.
