Not your usual storytelling – this time it's all about weaving a tale through art with manga artist and illustrator Katsuya Terada. As he digitally brings illustrations to life, he'll dive into the characters born from layered lines. In the realm of manga, characters inhabit the story's world. As viewers follow these characters, they become acquainted with their universe and, if there's a connection, become enveloped within it. How does the creator conceptualize and depict this world? Does the story or the characters come first? Watch as he attempts to capture that elusive "something" nestled between instinctive strokes and the narratives they give birth to. キャラクターと物語　　 このセッションは、漫画家・イラストレーターの寺田克也氏による「描き語り」。実際に寺田氏がデジタル上で線を重ねながらキャラクターに息吹を吹き込む様子を目撃する。 たとえばマンガでは、物語の世界の中に生きるキャラクターがいる。鑑賞者はキャラクターを追いかけ、その世界を知り、波長が合えばその世界に没入する。その時、作り手はこの世界をどのように構想し、描いているのだろうか。ストーリーを紡ぐのが先なのか、キャラクターが生まれるのが先なのか？直感的な筆致とそれによって浮かび上がる物語との間に存在する、とらえどころのない "何か" を捉え、参加者と共有する試み。
