Luisma, originally from Santander, Spain, developed a deep admiration and curiosity for early VFX work, which fueled his desire to pursue a career in the industry. As a Motion Edit Supervisor, he leads a team of artists, manages motion capture shoots, and contributes to the design and enhancement of tools and workflows.

Luisma joined Wētā FX in 2005 as a Motion Editor for Peter Jackson's King Kong. Since then, he has worked on many of Wētā's most iconic projects, including both of James Cameron's Avatar films, The Hobbit trilogy, and all four Planet of the Apes films, with his work on War for the Planet of the Apes earning him an Annie Award.

Luisma first took on the role of Motion Edit Supervisor for Avengers: Endgame before working on Avatar: The Way of Water.

Most recently, Luisma was the Motion Edit Supervisor for Michael Gracey's Better Man.
