“Lu Can Talk” is an animated TV series that explores the challenges of growing up through the eyes of Juan, a 12-year-old boy with an overactive imagination. Juan’s unique perspective often makes the world seem scarier than it is, but he finds support in his talking dog, Lu. Together, they navigate school, family, and friendships, The series showcases how Juan’s imagination shapes his reality through changing animation styles to reflect his view of the world. We aim to push boundaries of the medium with this artistic approach. Set in Bogotá, Colombia, the show captures the essence of a typical neighborhood in the early 2000s. The bond between Juan and Lu is central, but in this world, any animal can be heard when closely listened to. “Lu Can Talk” addresses important topics like mental health and pet care, making these lessons accessible and relatable for the audience.
