Maggie is Vice President of Animation Film for Netflix, reporting to Karen Toliver, and helps lead the content team responsible for supervising animated features for the company, from inception to script, and through production.

Biography

Maggie is Vice President of Animation Film for Netflix, reporting to Karen Toliver, and helps lead the content team responsible for supervising animated features for the company, from inception to script, and through production. The division has already produced the Academy Award®-nominated features, The Seabeast by Academy Award® winning director Chris Williams, as well as Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio which has already won the Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature. Upcoming from the division is Leo, starring Adam Sandler, Nimona, directed by former Blue Sky veterans, Nick Bruno and Troy Quane, as well as Thelma the Unicorn, directed by Lynn Wang and Jared Hess. Maggie is also helping to shepherd Alyce Tzue’s Steps from Amy Poehler's Paper Kite Productions, as well as Trisha Gum’s Ferguson & Rebecca. Maggie joined Netflix in 2020 to develop and produce an animated feature adaptation of Roald Dahl’s The Twits, written and directed by Phil Johnston, with whom she worked on the Academy Award® winning Zootopia, as well as Wreck-it Ralph and Ralph Breaks the Internet at the Walt Disney Animation Studios. Prior to her time at Netflix, Maggie was Head of Creative Affairs at the Walt Disney Animation Studios for over a decade. Her time at Disney Animation coincided with the larger company buying Pixar, and Pixar heads Ed Catmull and John Lasseter creatively taking over leadership of Disney Animation. Maggie got a front-row seat in learning from the leaders as they transformed Disney Animation culturally and creatively. Maggie oversaw story development of all animated features during her tenure, including the Academy Award®-winning Frozen, Zootopia and Big Hero 6, the Academy Award®-nominated Moana, Princess and the Frog, Wreck-it Ralph, Wreck-it Ralph 2, and Bolt, as well as Tangled, Frozen 2, Winnie The Pooh and Meet the Robinsons. Maggie also has story development credits on the Tinker Bell films from the DisneyToons Studios division. While at Disney, Maggie also co-authored The Art of Moana and The Art of Wreck-It Ralph. Between her producer position at Netflix and executive tenure at Disney, Maggie was also an Executive Producer at Illumination Entertainment, overseeing her own slate of projects including Sing 2 and the forthcoming Migration, directed by Academy Award®-nominee Benjamin Renner. Maggie began her career in animation when she set up the manuscript of Kate Di Camillo’s Newberry-award winning book, The Tale of Despereaux, at Universal Pictures for Academy Award® nominee writer/director Gary Ross. Maggie is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, as well as Women in Animation. Maggie is also a proud mother of a 7-year-old daughter, and a cancer survivor.
