American born but UK raised, after seeing Jurassic Park Ciaran completed a B.Eng and PhD in Computer Science with the express purpose of getting into the computer graphics business.  

After a decade of working in commercial and film VFX at Framestore in London and ILM in San Francisco he helped build out the sadly short-lived Cinderbiter stop-motion studio.

When that studio closed he joined Google, and after tours through maps and the Oscar-nominated Spotlight Stories he is now a member of the Tilt Brush team, exploring what creativity means in VR.
