Biography

Red Hong Yi is a Malaysian artist known as the creative visionary who “paints without a paintbrush".

Hailing from Borneo, she transforms everyday materials into striking mixed-media installations, blending traditional craftsmanship with digital technology. Her work explores themes of heritage, memories and social change, using materials like eggshells, chopsticks, teabags and sand.

Based in Kuala Lumpur, Red leads a small studio of artists and designers. Her work has been showcased at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Saatchi Gallery in London, Anchorage Museum in Alaska, and H Queens in Hong Kong.

She has collaborated with global brands, including Porsche, Google, HSBC, and Louis Vuitton.
