As creatives, it's common to reach plateaus in our work or careers where we feel the need for new challenges or a fresh perspective. Personally, I’ve found that every five years, I experience a pull to change direction, seeking out new opportunities to grow, learn, and push the boundaries of my creativity. This continuous evolution not only keeps my work dynamic but also fuels my passion for exploring different artistic mediums. In this presentation, I’ll take you on a journey through my own creative evolution—from my years as a Game Art Director, where I worked on AAA titles, to my pursuit as a Street Photographer, capturing moments after midnight. Along the way, I’ll share the transferable skills and invaluable lessons I’ve gathered, which have allowed me to seamlessly transition between these two distinct creative fields. My aim for this talk is to inspire the audience to recognize the potential within your own work, encouraging you to explore where your creative journey can take you. Whether you're contemplating a similar shift in your career or simply looking for ways to reinvigorate your current practice, I hope to offer insights on when and how to take the risks that lead to the most rewarding artistic discoveries.
