Hope in the Face of Disruption: How Tech is Changing Storytelling

Description

The pace of technical disruption in the creative fields is increasing. This leads to great opportunities, new business models, and the ability to create experiences that could never exist before. However, it can also create anxiety. We discuss several of these shifts, ranging from real-time game engines, XR, AI, etc and give advice on how to navigate these changes. Hear from Maureen Fan, CEO, co-founder of 10X Emmy-award winning Baobab Studios, the animation studio that lives at the intersection of Silicon Valley and Hollywood. They create original IP that are being adapted in series with premium streamers, games, and graphic novels. Karla Ortiz, an award-winning fine artist and commercial artist who designed Doctor Strange for Marvel's Doctor Strange and has contributed to notable films such as Jurassic World, World of Warcraft, Rogue One, Thor's Ragnarok, and Black Panther. Matt Omerick, co-founder of Akili Interactive who created the World's 1st FDA approved, doctor-prescribed video game in history. Formerly he was Exec Art Director for LucasArts and shipped over 20 game titles including Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, SW: Battlefront and the Medal of Honor franchise.
