The Gathering of the Tribe
Don't forget to read the Introduction before you start the game!
I would like to invite you into an adventure and we will begin gathering together around the fire.
I summoned you. I called you to be a part of a game that starts in the middle of the forest. Please take a seat. The grass smells fresh, and the fire keeps us warm. The trees sway gently in the autumn breeze. It is only us. I move my hand and stop the time. I trust you, and I ask you to trust me. This is our tribe.
The game is easy. I will let you choose one item from my bag. Then, I will ask you to walk into the black forest, to the next stop. The map will become clear as you move forward. But do not worry, I will tell you the places you need to find. Places in which you will be asked to do a task and so new items will be given to you. When this adventure is over, you will have four important items and powers that will allow you to begin a new journey.
So let the adventure begin. Shall we? As I told you I will show you some items.
Which one would you choose?
- A diamond sword and a shield that never breaks and never fails so you can lead the way.
- A big horn with a magic brew that keeps the tribe joyful and motivated to overcome any obstacle.
- A wooden staff that heals all wounds, illnesses, fears, and pain of everyone around you.
- An old book that gives you all the information you need before making any decision.
Please choose the one you find more useful and send your answers to the Tavern (THU Facebook or Instagram accounts) if you wish, or directly to [email protected].
Before we begin our journey, I would like to invite you to think about some questions that might not be new for you: What is an introvert or an extrovert? Why are there people who have high emotional reactions and others who seem not to be affected at all? Why are there different styles of behavior depending on the situation and each person? Are we unique, or do we share traits that make us predictable? Are there worse traits and better traits in personality? Is it possible to adapt to the environment, or do “people never change”? Are we social beings, or do we tend to an individualistic behavior? Does evil exist and live among us?
Do not worry. These are all rhetorical questions that we will try to answer through the journey.
Both psychology and neuroscience, sociology or anthropology, philosophy and biology, among other sciences, have generated important schools of thought that try to explain what it means to be human.
But fear not, my beloved tribe. In this adventure, I will give you some powers that you might find useful:
- The power to understand your true self.
- The power to understand how culture is influencing you.
- The power to understand how context affects you.
- The power to understand your role in society.
Now grab your item. Stand up and look at the stars. The evening gives us the perfect atmosphere to open the map and find our next stop: The Silver Lake Of Personality.
I’ll see you there. And remember: you are not alone.
